State banking leadership program accepting applications
The Arkansas Bankers Association (ABA) and the University of Arkansas’ Walton College Executive Education division are partnering to develop the inaugural Leadership in Banking Academy.
Organizers say the program aims to create a network of dynamic leaders to propel the banking industry in Arkansas forward. Through the academy, selected candidates will learn how to motivate, inspire and lead high-performing teams within their organizations and communities.
The program will have two in-person sessions and four live, virtual sessions starting in November and concluding in August 2023.
Prospective participants must be at least 25 years old, worked in the banking industry for at least three years and be active in serving their community. Deadline to apply is Friday, Aug. 26, at 5 p.m. ABA will determine the participants for the inaugural program.
Shannon Heard, associate director of executive education in the Sam M. Walton College of Business, said 10 participants will be chosen for the inaugural cohort.
Applications can be submitted through the ABA website. The website also has information on tuition, potential program topics and attendance policy.
