The First Tee of Northwest Arkansas in Lowell recently added five new board members, an honorary board member and elected new officers.

Randy Hurban, the nonprofit’s executive director, said new board members are:

  • Leslye Perna (First Tee parent)
  • Noel Sosa (Rox Radio Group)
  • Jimmy Prencipe (Tyson Foods)
  • Roger Vessell (Cobb-Vantress; retired)
  • Carlos Chicas (Azteca TV)

“These new board members better reflect the diverse youth audience we are serving in the community,” Hurban said.

LPGA Tour golfer Maria Fassi, the 2019 SEC and NCAA individual champion while playing at the University of Arkansas, is an honorary board member.

New board officers are president Tony Katzer (Walmart Inc.), vice president David Pollard (Coca-Cola; retired) and secretary/treasurer Randall Hurban Jr. (Hight Jackson Associates).

The First Tee is a national youth development organization that introduces kids to the game of golf and its inherent values. The Lowell affiliate has seven full-time employees and between 12 and 15 part-time workers.
