E.C. Barton and Company acquires Seconds and Surplus
E.C. Barton and Company, the Jonesboro-based retailer operating in 19 states, has acquired Seconds & Surplus, a Dallas-based building material supplier. The deal includes four locations in Texas.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The Seconds and Surplus locations will continue to operate under the same name in the Dallas market.

Since 1987, Seconds and Surplus Building Materials has been providing contractors and homeowners with new and surplus merchandise, purchased directly from the manufacturer. Seconds and Surplus currently operates four locations including Dallas, Richardson, Grand Prairie, and Lewisville.
E.C. Barton and Company is a 100% employee-owned organization that currently operates two retail divisions – Home Outlet and Barton’s. They make up a combined 112 stores – including one Home Outlet location in Dallas and 10 additional Home Outlet locations in Texas.
