Forward Arkansas names Victoria Watson to policy post
Forward Arkansas has named Victoria Watson as its director of policy and engagement.
In her role, Watson will collaborate with the Arkansas Department of Education, school districts, local communities and other key stakeholders to drive high-impact policy changes around Forward’s focus areas.
“At its core, education is about helping students flourish, both in the classroom and in the real world,” said Watson. “I’m excited to align my passion for education with Forward’s commitment to student success.”
She previously served as assistant director of K-12 education relationships for the Philanthropy Roundtable. She was also an associate policy director at the Foundation for Excellence in Education and education policy staffer for a member of the Arkansas congressional delegation.
Watson holds a bachelor’s degree from Washington and Lee University.
Forward Arkansas was established in 2014 with grants from the Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation and Walton Family Foundation with the goal of improving outcomes for all students.
It works with districts, schools, educational partners and state leaders for systemic changes to education.
