Forty Under 40: Lindy Janes

Lindy Janes has worked in commercial real estate for more than 15 years. The Springdale native manages a portfolio of more than 600,000 square feet of office space, has more than 150 tenants and was instrumental in increasing the occupancy rate from 60% to 80% for the 79-acre Beau Terre Office Park, the largest office park in the region.

Janes has spent most of her career working for Colliers International and started there in 2006 as a marketing manager after earning a bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of Arkansas. She transitioned into property management in 2009 and was assistant property manager, property manager and senior property manager for Colliers International.

In 2013, she started managing the Beau Terre Office Park and has continued to manage it after its third-party property management firm changed to Focus Commercial Real Estate when it launched earlier this year.

In April, she joined the real estate company as a founding member. The opportunity for growth and to work with a former manager and an owner of multiple properties she’s managed led her to join.

“I treat tenants like I’d want to be treated,” she said. “I’m on-site at Beau Terre, so when a tenant needs something, I can assist them quite quickly. I feel like it’s the personal touch and going the extra mile for a tenant when they need help. That not only brings in new tenants but [also] keeps the ones you have.”

Other properties that Janes manages include Bentonville Commerce, South Walton Plaza and Agracel Professional Park. In 2012, she earned the Real Property Administrator (RPA) designation.

She’s the Northwest Arkansas CCIM Chapter administrator and has coordinated an annual charity golf tournament, educational opportunities and luncheons.
