The Arkansas Grocers and Retail Merchants Association has selected Steve Goode to serve as its Executive Director.

Goode brings 36 years of experience in retail business to the association. He is the owner of Goode’s Cash Saver Food Outlets in Clinton and Damascus. He most recently served Gov. Asa Hutchinson as the Executive Administrator of Alcohol, Tobacco, Medical Marijuana, Racing, Gaming and Casinos Commissions.

“I have had the privilege of serving retail consumers my entire working life. I started my career in the grocery business as a 16 year old, working for Phillips Food 4 Less, and have had the pleasure of working for some of the greatest retailers in the world, including Wal Mart and Edward’s Food Giant,” Goode said. “I have been blessed to be in business for myself since 2012, and I look forward to bringing the years of experience that I have to helping AGRMA and its member retailers in any way that I can.”

Best Association Management of Little Rock was also contracted to work in conjunction with Goode providing association management services on an outsourced basis.

“Outsourcing administrative and management needs for organizations gives Executive Directors and their Boards access to a team of talented professionals. This is a scalable model that can grow or shrink as the needs of the Association change over the years,” said Anne Fuller, President of Best.

The Arkansas Grocers & Retail Merchants Association is dedicated to serving, promoting and protecting the food/grocery and retail industries of the state of Arkansas through legislative efforts, education and member services. AGRMA offers a number of benefits for grocery or retail business owners and operators and for businesses whose activities and interests are similar to the grocery and retail industries.
