Lexicon acquires Steel Fabricators of Monroe

Little Rock-based Lexicon Fabricators and Constructors is acquiring Steel Fabricators of Monroe, La., and adding its 130 employees to its workforce.

Lexicon is a provider of construction management, fabrication, erection, mechanical installation and plant management services. It has done work for Nucor Steel, AT&T Stadium and other high-profile national projects. With the addition of Steel Fabricators, the company now includes Lexicon Industrial Constructors, Prospect Steel and Custom Metals, Heritage Links and Lexicon Energy Services.

Terms of the private transaction were not disclosed.

Established in 1973 by Don Beach and John Hunter, Steel Fabricators of Monroe operates on a 20-acre site. An AISC-Certified fabricator, its campus includes more than 160,000 square feet of fabrication space and warehouse, training and maintenance facilities. It utilizes cutting-edge technology in its processes, including fully automated CNC equipment, electronic tablets, bar coding technology and the latest fabrication software.
