Walmart partners with Oak Street Health for 3 clinics in Dallas-Fort Worth

Oak Street Health announced Tuesday (Sept. 2) it would move its health care practices into three locations in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Those locations are at 4801 S. Cooper St., in Arlington, 8840 Benbrook Ave., in Benbrook and 1213 E. Trinity Mills Road in Carrollton.

Walmart said it had served customers in these locations as Walmart Care Clinics for the past five years, but Oak Street will take over those operations in the next few weeks. Marcus Osborne, senior vice president of Walmart Health said this is an evolved approach to healthcare and is necessary as Walmart looks to expand into more new locations.

“As we grow Walmart Health locations in other markets, we think Oak Street Health’s innovative value-based healthcare model will help us continue to deliver on our live better promise at these locations.”

The new Oak Street Health clinics in Dallas-Fort Worth will offer preventive primary care and urgent care services. They will provide extended hours for walk-ins, same-day appointments and scheduled appointments. While all members of the community, from toddlers to seniors, are welcome at the clinics, Oak Street Health’s focus is in growing its network of more than 60 primary care centers remains with adults on Medicare.
