Baptist Health opens Gastroenterology Center in Van Buren
Baptist Health has opened a Gastroenterology Center in Van Buren with Dr. Thusha Nathan now accepting patients. Nathan provides comprehensive gastroenterology services, including treatment for Hepatitis B and C, management of liver disease and diagnostic colonoscopies and endoscopies.
Many of the procedures are provided at Baptist Health-Van Buren, offering residents of Crawford County and Northwest Arkansas a shorter commute for specialty care.
Nathan earned a medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine and completed a fellowship of Gastroenterology at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock. It was there that Nathan says she developed a deep love for southern culture.
“I love talking to people and really getting to know them,” Nathan said. “I feel that the body is so very interconnected that only by understanding someone as a whole, can you begin the healing process.”
Nathan believes in holistic wellness and likes to educate her patients on how the food they eat plays a role in their digestive health, mental health and immunity to other illnesses. In her free time, Nathan is also a yoga instructor and also likes to travel, cook, and learn about new cultures, languages and people.
The center is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. To schedule an appointment, call (479) 709-7115.
