Fayetteville-based Lindsey Management Co. says construction will begin this summer on a new 468-unit apartment community near Arvest Ballpark in Springdale.

The Trails at the Crossings is a partnership between the Lindsey and George families, who have a long-term business and personal relationship.

The site is just west of the ballpark on approximately 22 acres at the northeast corner of Watkins Avenue and South 64th Street. The land is owned by C.L. George and Sons LP, a partnership made up of George’s Inc. chairman Gary George — who’s also chairman of Springdale-based Legacy National Bank — and his sister, Cathy (George) Evans.

Although they share some of the same owners, Lindsey Management is a separate company from Lindsey & Associates, the real estate empire in Fayetteville founded by Jim Lindsey.

“We are excited to bring The Trails at the Crossings to Springdale,” said Lindsey Management CEO Lyndy Lindsey, Jim Lindsey’s son. “This is our most high-end apartment project to date from the rock masonry on the outside to the upgraded finishes on the inside. The location cannot be beaten with quick access to I-49, Highway 112, the new [NorthWest Arkansas Community College] campus, Arvest Ballpark, Arkansas Children’s Northwest and the west side of Springdale.”

Lindsey Construction Co. is the general contractor.

The multifamily development will include a mixture of one-bedroom and two-bedroom units, ranging in size from 592 to 910 square feet. It will feature three-story buildings and adhere to rules and regulations of the Ballpark/Southwest Springdale Overlay District, approved by the city in 2015. The building units will have a “different look” on the exterior, according to the company, with varied roof lines, brick and stone exteriors. In addition, there will be a limited number of garages available to residents for additional monthly rent.

A Lindsey Management spokesperson said lease rates have not been determined.

Apartment interiors will be fully equipped with granite countertops, stainless steel kitchen appliances, full-size washer and dryer, and wood-look plank flooring and/or carpet in all units. Other project highlights include a clubhouse with a business center, state-of-the-art fitness center and game room. Development plans also include a resort-style swimming pool, dog park, walking trail and complimentary access to the nine-hole golf course at the Links at Springdale on South 40th Street.

The Trails at the Crossings plans to have first units available in the spring of 2020 and project completion by the end of 2020.
