Walmart to hold annual wellness fair
Walmart plans to hold its annual wellness fair at more than 4,500 U.S. stores this weekend. This is the fifth year Walmart is holding the event and it will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday (April 27). In addition to free screenings, Walmart is also participating in the Drug Enforcement Administration’s (DEA) Prescription Drug Take Back Day.
The retail giant is providing free blood pressure checks, along with blood glucose tests and BMI screenings. There will be free consultations with pharmacists to help answer health questions from customers. Walmart also provides low-cost immunizations which are administered by a pharmacist. Most insurance plans are accepted. In some locations there will be free vision screenings as well. Nutritional information and Opioid awareness materials are also available at the event.
Walmart said as part of the Drug Take Back Day, consumers can drop off unwanted prescription drugs for proper disposal.
