KATV will be moving to a new location in the Riverdale area of Little Rock in early 2020.

Its current location at 4th and Main Street, the home to KATV for decades, will eventually become a part of the Little Rock Tech Park.

The new property, which was built in 2006 as the Arkansas Student Loan Guarantee Foundation building, is located at 10 Turtle Creek Lane in the Riverdale area. It is a two-story building and occupies about 22,000 sq. ft.

The top-ranked TV station in the central Arkansas market must first get a variance from the city of Little Rock for its transmission tower. A planning commission meeting will consider the request next week.

Mark Rose, general manager for KATV, said if the variance is approved, he hopes to close on the building in April. A move to the new building could happen by early 2020.

“This has been a long time in the making,” Rose tells Talk Business & Politics. “We are committed to central Arkansas and this facility will help us continue our level of excellence to the community.”

Talk Business & Politics is a content partner with KATV Ch. 7. The TV show, which is in its 20th year, airs Sundays at 9:30 a.m. on KATV.
