Simmons Bank to be title sponsor for Youth Entrepreneur Showcase
Simmons Bank will be the first-ever title sponsor of the Youth Entrepreneur Showcase (Y.E.S.), a business plan competition for fifth through eighth graders in Arkansas.
The entrepreneurial education program has involved nearly 8,000 school children since 2006.
Simmons Bank presented a $10,000 check to the Y.E.S. competition, which is managed by Arkansas Capital Corporation.
“We created the Y.E.S. competition as an outgrowth of the success of the annual Arkansas Governor’s Cup Collegiate Business Plan Competition, which we launched in 2001,” said Rush Deacon, CEO of Arkansas Capital Corporation. “The investment made today by Simmons Bank is a huge step in helping Arkansas Capital continue to support teachers who want a real-world, hands-on way to introduce their students to entrepreneurship. It’s been fun over the years to see the ideas that have come forth from the minds of these youngsters throughout the state.”
“We are so pleased to support Arkansas Capital Corporation and the Youth Entrepreneurship Showcase through this $10,000 Community Enhancement Grant funded through the Simmons First Foundation. We appreciate the opportunity to impact our youth – the future generation of entrepreneurs,” said Chris White, Simmons Bank Market President for Central Arkansas.
