Lorrie Trogden tapped to lead Arkansas Bankers Association
The Arkansas Bankers Association (ABA) board of directors has unanimously chosen Lorrie Trogden as its new president and CEO. The hiring took effect Oct. 16. She is the ABA’s ninth CEO, and the first woman to have the job.
“We are proud to have Lorrie on our team,” ABA board chairman Cathy Owen said in a news release. “She brings a great deal of enthusiasm to the table, as well as marked experience in government relations and advocacy. We look forward to her leadership as the Association continues to support banks and bankers throughout the state.”
Trogden was previously associate executive director and director of government relations at the Arkansas Bar Association. She has also spent time at Alltel, Stocks Mortgage Inc., and Acxiom. She earned a political science degree from the University of Central Arkansas and a master’s degree in operations management from the University of Arkansas.
Trogon replaces William R. “Bill” Holmes, who served as president and CEO since 2012 and spent more than 40 years in the banking industry. Prior to joining the ABA in 2003, he worked in investment banking, and in the trust and wealth management divisions of Stephens Inc., Twin City Bank, Mercantile Bank and Metropolitan National Bank.
