What is it that drives you in your career? I’ve a plan A philosophy. There’s no plan B. Plan A has to work. Whatever it takes to make plan A work is the plan.

How old were you when you had your first paying job, and what was it? I was 16, 17 or 18. I worked for my uncle in his True Value hardware store putting together wheelbarrows, wagons and bicycles.

What is your favorite thing to do when you are not working? Anything to do with my wife or children. About five or six years ago, I got into raising Irish Dexter cattle, and they’re delicious.

What’s something interesting about you that people would be surprised to learn? In grade school and junior high, I had the record for superiors at state with the trombone.

What is your biggest passion, and why? I like winning. I like the thrill of the hunt, and I love the close. I still get an adrenaline rush from solving somebody’s problem.

What’s the biggest risk you’ve ever taken? Converting from a pure sales agent over to a true dealership model.
