The University of Arkansas – Pulaski Technical College Foundation announced that the Windgate Foundation has awarded a major grant of $1 million to establish the “Windgate Foundation General Scholarship Endowment.” This is the largest endowed scholarship fund in the history of the two-year college.

Scholarships awarded from this endowment will be available to any current or entering full-time or part-time student at UA – Pulaski Tech and will be awarded for any degree plans or technical certificates. Campus officials said the endowment will generate approximately $40,000 per year that will be awarded for scholarships.

“We are overjoyed with this grant from the Windgate Foundation. A general scholarship endowment creates significant academic opportunities for our students’ career success,” said Shannon Boshears, Vice Chancellor of Advancement.

“This generous gift will strengthen the school’s mission to provide access to a high-quality education that promotes student learning and enables individuals to develop to their full potential. We greatly appreciate Windgate Foundation’s continued confidence in the important work we do at UA – Pulaski Tech,” added Dr. Margaret Ellibee, UA – Pulaski Technical College Chancellor.

The Windgate Foundation has provided support to the college and its students since 2008. With this gift, Windgate’s support for UA – Pulaski Tech totals nearly $3 million, including a $1 million gift that furnished and equipped the school’s Center for Humanities and the Arts (CHARTS). Windgate also helped to create the college’s first $1 million operational endowment to support CHARTS.
