Jad Malek, who spent 16 years with Wells Fargo Bank, most recently as regional banking area president for Utah, has been named vice president of retail operations for Arkansas Federal Credit Union.

Malek will help develop the credit union’s strategic vision, according to a news release, and “foster the talent and skills of employees serving in retail operations to ensure excellent member service at all levels.” Malek started as a teller at Wells Fargo and worked his way up to branch manager before being named regional banking district manager for Arizona.

As regional president for Wells Fargo’s Utah operations, Malek led a network of more than 50 branches.

Arkansas Federal also announced the hiring of former Windstream executive Kara Stockwell as vice president of organizational development.

Stockwell will lead Arkansas Federal’s personal and professional development for more than 280 employees across the state. At Windstream, she directed learning facilitation for new hire programs, system enhancements and product launches.

In addition, Stockwell administered the company’s learning-management system for its 14,000 employees nationwide. Prior to joining Windstream, Stockwell served in various managerial roles for Alltel and Verizon in Little Rock.
