ATA to host blockchain technology workshop March 6
Arkansas Trucking Association’s Accounting and Finance Council will host a Blockchain Primer at 10 a.m. March 6 in Little Rock. Attendees will hear from experts as they learn the basics of blockchain in Blockchain 101 and find out why blockchain technology will revolutionize transportation.
Expert Ken Craig of McLeod Software will present Blockchain 101. Craig has provided virtual chief information officer (CIO) consulting, IT leadership and strategic planning for U.S. companies and helped them with enterprise information systems, such as operations management, data management and project execution.
Chris Burruss, president of the Blockchain in Transport Alliance (BiTA), will explain why blockchain technology will change the transportation industry. Burruss is the former president of the Truckload Carriers Association (TCA) and former CEO of the Tennessee Trucking Association.
Also, students from the University of Arkansas’ College of Business will present a blockchain project that offers a solution to optimize the carrier payment process.
Members of the Arkansas Trucking Association can attend the meeting for free by registering by Friday (March 2). Other guests can attend for a small fee.
