The Arkansas House and the Arkansas Senate will square off in their sixth annual charity basketball fundraiser on Tuesday, March 13. The benefit — Hoops for Kids Sake — for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arkansas and the Boys & Girls Club of Bryant and of Saline County will be held at 7 p.m. at the Jack Stephens Center on the University of Arkansas at Little Rock campus.

Although the Arkansas Senate brings a two-game winning streak into this year’s game, the Arkansas House has a 3-2 lead in the overall series. All proceeds will benefit the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arkansas (BBBSCA), Boys & Girls Club of Bryant and Boys & Girls Club of Saline County.

The Hoops for Kids Sake game has raised more than $150,000 since its inception in 2013.

“The opportunity to support these kids is something that always gets the Senate players excited to play hard,” said Senate President Jonathan Dismang. “And as defending champs for the second straight year, we have an additional incentive as we fight to even up the series and keep the trophy on the south side of the Capitol.”

“As the previous three-time champions of Hoops for Kids Sake, we are looking forward to bringing back the trophy to the House,” said Speaker of the House Jeremy Gillam. “But as much as we have enjoyed beating the Senate over the years, we know the biggest victory is raising money for these organizations that do so much for our youth.”

General admission tickets for $10 will be available at the door. Doors open at 6 p.m. Sponsorships are $1,000.
