Little Rock visitors bureau unveils new promotional site for the city
The Little Rock Convention & Visitors Bureau on Wednesday (Jan. 3) unveiled a newly redesigned website, at LittleRock.com.
“The LRCVB promotes the city’s tourism offerings, from places to eat and stay, to where to shop and visit,” Gretchen Hall, LRCVB president and CEO, said in a press release. “A most effective way to do that is through a destination’s website – essentially its front door.”
The new site’s goal is to be more engaging to potential visitors, according to the LRCVB.
In addition to an events calendar and details for visitors on accommodations, the site also has several new features, including a “What’s Hot in Little Rock” blog that focuses on news and events and a section titled “Engaging Experiences” that highlights things to do in town, from shopping, to dining, to bicycling – with subcategories that include “nightlife,” “agritourism,” family fun” and “free things to do.”
The “Little Rock Like a Local” section is intended to serve as a guide through the city’s unique districts and neighborhoods, according to the LRCVB. The page currently spotlights downtown and the River Market District. There is also the Main Street Creative Corridor, South Main, Quapaw Quarter, Midtown, Heights, Hillcrest, Riverdale, West Little Rock, the Airport District and the Southwest District.
The site’s “Meet Little Rock” feature advertises Little Rock’s offerings through a series of short videos, and the site now has a “Trending in Little Rock” social media feed section, with links to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Flickr and YouTube posts with Little Rock-themed hashtags.
Hall said the revamped website is designed in a way that makes it user-friendly on a wide range of devices.
“Because sites are constantly evolving, we’ve redesigned LittleRock.com to enhance user experience with several new features,” Hall said in the release. “With an eye-pleasing layout and beautiful photography, the site’s responsive design makes it easier than ever to learn about Little Rock with a click or tap, regardless of the device you’re using.”
Its new website features the bureau’s tagline, “Life is Better with a Southern Accent.”
