J.B. Hunt to pay 24-cents per share dividend to shareholders
J.B. Hunt Transport Services will pay a 24-cents per share cash dividend on Feb. 23 to stockholders of record Feb. 9. The Lowell-based carrier announced the dividend payment Wednesday (Jan. 24).
The cash dividend is an increase of 1 cent per share, or 4.3%, from the 23-cents per share cash dividends handed out in the past four quarters.
On Jan. 18, the carrier reported net income increased 58.8% to $686.263 million, or $6.18 per share, in 2017, from $432.090 million, or $3.81 per share, in 2016. In the fourth quarter of 2017, earnings rose 227.8% to $385.308 million, or $3.48 per share, from $117.556 million, or $1.05 per share, in the same period in 2016.
Shares of J.B. Hunt (NASDAQ: JBHT) closed at $125.65 after reaching a 52-week high of $126.43 on Wednesday. In the past 52 weeks, the stock has traded as low as $83.35.
