Former Cooper Clinic CEO named a director with El Pollo Loco

Doug Babb, a corporate attorney for then Beverly Enterprises and former CEO of Fort Smith-based Cooper Clinic, has been appointed to the board of directors of El Pollo Loco Holdings, Inc.

The appointment was effective Jan. 3. Directors with El Pollo may earn between $90,000 and more than $110,000 a year in salary and stock awards, according to the company’s recent Proxy Statement.

El Pollo Loco (NASDAQ: LOCO) is a fire-grilled chicken restaurant chain with more than 470 company-owned and franchised restaurants in Arizona, California, Nevada, Texas and Utah. El Pollo Loco is expanding its presence through a combination of company and existing and new franchisee development.

William Floyd, the CEO of then Fort Smith-based Beverly Enterprises, is also on the El Pollo board.

In addition to his work at Cooper Clinic and Beverly Enterprises, Babb was a senior vice president at Burlington Northern Santa Fe Corp.

Babb is the managing director of Babb Strategic Services.
