Walmart executive takes job with UPS
UPS has added to its senior leadership team with the hiring of Scott Price as chief transformation officer. The hiring, announced Wednesday (Nov. 29), is effective Dec. 11.
Price is executive vice president, global leverage for Wal-Mart Stores Inc. in Bentonville. Previously, he served as president and chief executive officer of Walmart Asia from 2014-16.
He will also join the UPS Management Committee, the company’s senior-most leadership group.
Before joining Walmart, Price held senior roles for DHL Express International and The Coca-Cola Co.
The UPS chief transformation officer role is a new position. Price will be responsible for “driving and facilitating organizational change” in the company, looking for profitable growth opportunities in both existing and new markets.
A U.S. native, Price earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of North Carolina in Charlotte. He also holds a master of business administration degree and a master’s in Asian studies from the University of Virginia. He also sits on the board of trustees of UVA’s Darden School of Business.
