Michael Singleton, associate director of the Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center based at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, has been named to the accreditation committee for America’s Small Business Development Centers, a network for small business centers throughout the country, according to a press release from UA Little Rock.

It is a three-year appointment, in which Singleton will work with members from across the U.S.

The 20-person committee oversees the accreditation process for the nationwide network of Small Business Development Centers.

The objective of the committee is to “ensure high performance and quality services,” according to the release.

Singleton has worked with ASBTDC since 2004. He started at the Henderson State University office before moving in 2007 to the UA Little Rock ASBTDC, the lead center in the state.

The organization has seven locations throughout the state. Others are based at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia, University of Arkansas at Monticello and Arkansas Tech University in Russellville.

ASBTDC assists companies at every stage of business development and growth, providing consulting and market research services and educational events for the business community.

Singleton’s appointment was announced in September by the board of directors for America’s SBDC.
