The University of Arkansas System has named longtime senior regional audit director Gina Terry as its new chief financial officer, the UA announced Wednesday (Sept. 20).

Terry, who joined the UA System in 2001 as associate director, took over the role Sept. 1. Jacob Flournoy, chief audit executive, had served as interim CFO, according to the system, based in Little Rock.

“Gina has an impressive background in finance and an impeccable reputation within her role as an audit professional and I think she is more than equipped to handle the challenges and duties her new role presents,” President Donald Bobbitt said in a press release. “We had many quality applicants in a national search to fill the role, but I am confident that the best candidate was right here already working alongside our many campuses, divisions and units.”

Terry has more than 35 years of professional finance and audit experience. She began her career in 1981 at Ernst & Young in Little Rock and Detroit, Mich., before working as a partner at Miller, England and Terry and as controller at a privately owned catalog company, according to the UA.

Terry is a Certified Public Accountant and an honors graduate in accounting from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, according to the UA.
