Boston-based Iron Mountain Inc., a publicly traded storage and data management firm, announced the opening of a new 23,000 square foot information management facility in fast-growing Otter Creek area of west Little Rock.

Iron Mountain’s new central Arkansas location follows the opening of the company’s record storage, shredding and document imaging facility in Bentonville’s CrossMar Industrial Park just over a year ago.

“We chose Little Rock because of the combination of our local existing customers and the opportunity to grow our presence in Arkansas,” said Jim Dodson, Iron Mountain’s senior vice president & general manager of records management.

“Every organization knows that their records and information can be a valuable source of insight for improving their business and bottom line. Getting control of that information is a key first step in tapping into that value, and our services can help, ensuring that information is accessible while also secure and protected,” he added.

The Bentonville facility has four employees, led by operations manager Johnny Cochran, and manages records for about 130 local clients. Company spokesman Christian Potts said the Little Rock facility, which has a total storage capacity of 200,000 cubic feet of records and 260,000 data tapes, will employ five workers and “will scale according to customer and business needs” in the future.

Iron Mountain’s international real estate network accounts for more than 85 million square feet of data story across more than 1,400 facilities in 52 countries.
