Mexico-based Industrias Bachoco, the parent company of OK Foods in Fort Smith, has acquired Albertville Quality Foods (AQF), a value-added meat company with foodservice, retail and national accounts.

Details of the transaction were not disclosed. Albertville, Ala.-based AQF will be brought under OK Foods management.

“With this acquisition, we will continue the growing of our US operation, mainly with further processed products,” Rodolfo Ramos, CEO of Industrias Bachoco, said in a statement. “We are confident that we will be able to quickly integrate this company into our current operations and to capitalize the opportunities and synergies we have identified.”

Bachoco expects the acquisition to close this year. AQF reported sales of approximately $270 million per year, according to Industrias Bachoco.

The company operates two facilities totaling 147,000 square feet, and produces “multiple proteins and vegetables on six par fry lines, two IQF lines and two hand sizing operations.” The company specializes in hand-sizing, portioning, marinating, breading and par frying.
