OK Foods names new COO following acquisitions
Randy Meyers has been promoted from executive vice president of sales and marketing to chief operating officer of OK Foods.
The COO position is newly-created and is a result of the company’s two acquisitions in the past 18 months, one in Oklahoma and the most recent in Alabama. Meyers has more than 25 years of industry experience. The company said it will begin a national search for a new EVP of sales and marketing.
OK Foods CEO R. Trent Goins made the announcement internally to employees following last week’s acquisition of Albertville Quality Foods, located in Albertville, Ala. Bachoco expects the acquisition to close this year. AQF reported sales of approximately $270 million per year, according to Industrias Bachoco.
“As our company has grown, so have our operational needs,” Goins said in a statement. “Randy brings the industry experience and proven sales performance we need within our growing company. He fits the mold of our sales-driven company and knows that our transparency, communication and teamwork with both our employees and our customers are what sets us apart from other producers.”
OK Foods began as a livestock and poultry feed manufacturer in the 1930‘s and is now a subsidiary of Mexico-based Industrias Bachoco. OK Foods has more than 3,000 employees.
