Texas official named clinical director of surgical services at Washington Regional in Fayetteville

James Roundtree has joined Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville as clinical director of surgical services. Washington Regional announced the hire Thursday (June 8).

Roundtree, who started in the position in early May, works with the hospital’s administrative director of surgical services “to support innovation and excellence in surgical patient care and safety,” according to a news release.

Previously, Roundtree was director of perioperative services at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital in Bedford, Texas. He earned a Bachelor of Science in nursing and a Master of Business Administration from Oklahoma Wesleyan University. He’s certified as an operating room nurse.

His professional experience encompasses vascular surgery, urology, robotics and kidney transplants and includes surgery leadership positions at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital, Sparks Health System in Fort Smith, St. John Medical Center in Tulsa and Oklahoma University Medical Center in Oklahoma City.

Roundtree is also a captain in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps.
