Shareholders of Bentonville-based America’s Car-Mart will have the opportunity to select Ray Dillon to serve on the company’s board.

The board of directors for the buy here, pay here car dealership nominated Ray Dillon to replace Kenny Gunderman, whose term on the board is expiring. The company announced the nomination on Monday (June 5).

Gunderman has served on the board since July 2014 and is president and CEO of Uniti Group Inc., formerly Communications Sales & Leasing. Between 2006 and March 2015, Gunderman worked for Stephens Inc., and most recently was executive vice president and co-head of investment banking.

Dillon, who’s 61, was president, CEO and director of Deltic Timber Corp. between July 2003 and until retirement in October 2016. He previously served as an executive for Gaylord Container Corp. from 1994 through mid-2003. He’s worked more than 40 years in the paper and forest products industry.

Dillon is chairman of the Little Rock Branch Board of the St. Louis Federal Reserve Bank and has served on the board since 2011. He also served on the board for US Concrete, between May 2009 and August 2010. His volunteer service includes the Arkansas Chamber of Commerce, the Associated Industries of Arkansas and the Quapaw Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America.

“America’s Car-Mart is fortunate to have someone of Ray’s caliber as a nominee to our board,” CEO William “Hank” Henderson said. “Ray’s operational and financial experience and knowledge of our markets along with his desire to contribute to our efforts will be a significant benefit to us as we move forward.”
