First Security opens bank in Russellville

First Security Bancorp opened a full-service bank at 2504 W. Main St. in Russellville. The Searcy-based company announced the opening Tuesday (June 6).

Market president Jared Wood, who has worked in the banking industry since 1995, will lead the new bank. The management team and lenders are comprised of Angie Smith, Justin Price, Jeanna Vickers and Heather Gately.

“Our team of local bankers looks forward to continuing to grow to meet the needs of the Arkansas River Valley area,” Wood said.

Wood graduated with a bachelor’s degree in economics and finance from Arkansas Tech University. He serves as president of the Arkansas Tech Foundation Board and as a board member of the Arkansas Tech Wesley Foundation. He’s a lifetime member of the Russellville Chamber of Commerce Red Coat Committee and 2002 Red Coat of the Year.

He’s a 1999 graduate of Leadership Russellville and a 2005 graduate of Faulkner County Leadership Institute. He and his wife, Jeneen, and their two children live in Russellville.
