Tiger Insurance Agency of Cabot and Southerland Insurance of Searcy have merged, the two firms announced on Wednesday.

Terms of the private transaction were not disclosed.

“We feel this is going to bring an increased level of customer service and more options for our customer base,” said James Arel, broker of Tiger Insurance Agency, a life and health insurance provider.

Carlon Southerland, owner of Southerland Insurance, has been selling health and life insurance in Searcy for more than 40 years.

“We want to ensure all of our existing customers that we are there for you and we hope to continue the level of excellence that Mr. Southerland has provided,” added Arel. “His experience and wisdom is absolutely vital to the future of the company.”

Additionally, the merger comes with a new and larger office, located at 303 N. Spruce Street in Little Rock.

“This new office provides a lot more space to meet with our clients, both old and new,” Arel added.
