Robert Coon and Jessica DeLoach Sabin are our guests on today’s Talk Business & Politics Daily program.
Sabin is a longtime contributor to Talk Business & Politics, while Coon is a new contributor to our forum.
With the recent House passage of a GOP-led healthcare reform measure, Republicans are now turning to the U.S. Senate to see what happens next. Democrats are hoping to hold the negative parts of the House bill over Republicans’ heads heading into next year’s elections.
Coon offers perspective on how the American Health Care Act may not be as bad as advertised, although he admits that there are some troubling parts. Sabin says it’s terrible policy, but she concedes there may be some parts worth salvaging.
The pair also discusses how the AHCA could impact Medicaid and other aspects of the health care system and next year’s political dynamics.
Finally, Coon offers his thoughts and asks the panel to weigh in on the good, the bad and the ugly of President Donald Trump’s first 100 days in office.
