Robert Coon is taking over managing partner duties for Terry Benham at Impact Management Group, a Little Rock-based corporate and political communications firm. Benham remains as a partner in the firm and continues to serve on the company’s board of directors.

Coon will be the third partner to lead IMG. Benham served in that role from 1999-2007 before taking a leave of absence to serve on Fred Thompson’s Campaign for President, and again from 2015 to the present. Richard Bearden, one of the founding partners with Benham, led the firm from 2007-2015 and helped drive expansion of services and market growth.

“We are in our 18th year of business and each year we get better. Our last two years have been our best two years and that is a testament to our talented team, our great chemistry, and our ability to help our clients be successful,” said Behnam. “New ideas and new vision are essential to long-term growth. Robert has been part of this firm for 12 years and has been an important part of our leadership team. He’s the right person to lead the firm, grow our presence in the marketplace and continue our very bright future.”

Coon has been with IMG since 2005 and a partner of the firm since 2009. He is a registered lobbyist, representing clients before the Arkansas General Assembly, executive branch, and state agencies. He also develops strategic communications campaigns and oversees grassroots, media, and digital outreach services for IMG’s public policy and issue advocacy clients.

“Our success as a company is attributable first and foremost to our talented and committed team of professionals who strive every day to exceed our clients’ expectations,” said Coon. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to lead this company, and this team, and look forward to building upon the legacy of strong leadership that the company has enjoyed over the past 18 years.”

Coon currently serves on several boards and commissions including the Little Rock Sister Cities Commission, the Governor’s Advisory Commission on National Service and Volunteerism, and the Arkansas District Export Council. He is also a contributor to Talk Business & Politics.

In addition, IMG also announced the promotions of Megan Tollett to Chief Financial Officer and Ashley Frans to Account Executive.

In addition to Little Rock, Impact Management Group also has offices in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Washington, D.C.
