Lt. Gov. Griffin names new deputy chief of staff
Lt. Gov. Tim Griffin has hired David Ray, the former Arkansas director of Americans for Prosperity, as his deputy chief of staff and communications director.
Before heading the state’s AFP chapter, Ray was communications director for U.S. Sen. Tom Cotton during his 2014 Senate race. Earlier, he was communications director at the Republican Party of Arkansas.
He has managed races for federal and state offices in Kansas, Kentucky, and New York.
“I am excited to welcome David Ray to my team,” Griffin said in the press release. “He is a solid conservative who brings extensive communications experience to the office, shares my goals for lowering taxes and reforming state government, and will be an asset working with the Legislature.”
Ray is a graduate of the University of the Ozarks.
“I am thrilled to be joining Lieutenant Governor Griffin’s office and am looking forward to communicating his ideas about reforming state government, reducing government spending, and growing jobs for hard working Arkansans,” he said in the press release.
