Tourism department hires marketer, motorcycle enthusiast as group travel manager
The Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism in Little Rock has hired a new manager of group travel and motorcycle tourism.
Brant Collins has co-owned an advertising agency in Little Rock, now called Tonic Media, since 2008.
A Dover, Ark., native, Collins is also a U.S. Navy veteran, former college recruiter and former broadcast journalist who graduated from Arkansas Tech University in Russellville.
“Mr. Collins comes to the tourism division with a great deal of related and valuable experience,” Joe David Rice, tourism director, said in a press release. “He’s absolutely committed to the growth of Arkansas’s tourism industry.”
The group travel division is comprised of a small staff that works to promote group travel in the form of conferences, conventions, sporting events, reunions, weddings and bus tours, according to Parks and Tourism.
The motorcycling tourism industry has grown rapidly in Arkansas over the last 10 years or so, according to Rice.
“As an avid motorcyclist himself and an active participant in the national motorcycling community, Collins brings particular expertise and enthusiasm to this aspect of the group travel division’s activities,” according to the press release.
