Former Walmart VP Jeff Charlson joins Startup Junkie as entrepreneur-in-residence
Jeff Charlson has joined Startup Junkie Consulting as senior entrepreneur-in-residence, the Fayetteville-based mentoring source for entrepreneurs announced Wednesday (Feb. 22).
Charlson is CEO and co-founder of Bike Rack Brewing Co. in Bentonville and previously served as vice president in the Information Systems Division of Wal-Mart Stores for more than 11 years. Before that, he was general manager of Walmart business for General Electric Co. about nine years, according to his LinkedIn page.
At Startup Junkie, Charlson will be tasked with helping to connect startups to the region’s larger businesses and will lead consulting, mentoring and programs for entrepreneurs at all stages, with a specific focus in Benton County, according to Startup Junkie.
“We are incredibly excited to have Jeff Charlson joining our team,” founding principal Jeff Amerine said in a newsletter from the NWA Venture Team. “His corporate and venture experience, along with his active role in the community make him a perfect fit to join our team. Jeff Charlson will definitely elevate the NWA venture scene to new levels.”
The NWA Venture Team consists of Startup Junkie and the nonprofit Community Venture Foundation.
Startup Junkie will introduce Charlson on March 14 at its regular Coffee+E event at 7:30 a.m. at the new Bike Rack Brewery location in the 8th Street Market in Bentonville.
