Before Mickey Richardson, a.k.a. MickeyLive, developed community-based technology programs for local kids, he introduced Macromedia Inc.’s Flash software to the world.

Richardson was doing graphic design and Web-development consulting during the mid-1990s when the San Francisco company asked him to become its software evangelist.

He hit the road with a show to promote Flash, the industry leader in animated Web graphics, and trademarked his stage name of MickeyLive.

The tour gradually went from drawing crowds of 300 per stop to 3,000 as Richardson traveled every major city in North, Central and South America.

Richardson, 29, is the founder of R3 Media Group Inc. in Fayetteville. He moved to the area in 1999 from Oregon where in 1993 he founded Mar Production, a sports video production company.

Born in Hanford, Calif., Richardson attended Walla Walla College in Washington state.

In January, he joined ITech in Fayetteville as community business coordinator.

He developed Technology Twister, a summer kids program that culminates in campers building their own computer to keep.
