Tuesday’s edition of Talk Business & Politics Daily features a report from the Democratic National Convention with KATV’s Elicia Dover; an interview with Jon Blitz, regional president for telecom carrier Sprint; and Conner Eldridge, presumptive Democratic nominee for the U.S. Senate.
Dover is reporting from Philadelphia, ground zero for the Democratic National Convention. She recaps last night’s speakers, discusses the late afternoon nomination frenzy, and previews tonight’s featured speakers that include former President Bill Clinton.
Also, Eldridge, who appeared on Sunday’s TV edition of Talk Business & Politics, explains why he’s not in Philadelphia at the convention this week.
SPRINT REGIONAL HQ
Earlier this month, telecom giant Sprint officially opened its South Central Region headquarters in Little Rock.
Industry veteran Jon Blitz will oversee the region’s operations which stretch from Texas to the Gulf Coast.
In an interview with Talk Business & Politics Daily, Blitz tells why Arkansas was chosen for the new hub.
“We are really trying to get closer to the customer,” Blitz said. “One of the things that Sprint has done here with this transformation is to divide it up into 18 different regions. We were very centralized in the past and we have lost focus over the years of the customer and really what the customer needs, so if you take a look at Little Rock and you a look at our region and the geography we are right in the center of it where we want to be to make sure that we are in touch with the customer.”
