If you’re an Arkansas Razorback fan, you no doubt remember powerful running back Peyton Hillis. And if you’re a serious fan, you remember that Hillis used to pull automobiles.

Seriously. Google “Peyton Hillis pulling trucks” and see what pops up.

He began the unusual training method while in high school and it drew more attention during his seven-year career in the NFL, which concluded with the New York Giants in 2014.

Now retired (the last we’d heard he was a volunteer coach at Siloam Springs High School) and living in Maysville, Hillis recently started earning a living in a fitting way — pulling automobiles.

Hillis and his wife, Amanda, recently purchased NWA Towing and Recovery Inc. of Fayetteville. The business, also with a Rogers location, was previously owned by Brent and Mandy Manning. It has 10 employees and nine tow trucks, one of the largest fleets in the area.

The deal closed on June 14. Allan Taylor & Co. of Bentonville acted as M&A advisors for the sellers.

The purchase price was not disclosed.
