Presenting NWABJs 2016 Women in Business
The individuals featured in this year’s Women in Business section come from diverse backgrounds and have a variety of interests.
By day, they run companies, build brands, work on meaningful projects and make millions in revenue for their employers. After hours, they take time for family and enjoy the outdoors. At least one honoree has run a marathon, one is a championship Toastmaster and another raises cattle and plays bingo.
The Northwest Arkansas Business Journal introduced the Women in Business feature last year, and we’re excited to bring it back. While we enjoy writing about female business leaders throughout the year, this section carves out a dedicated space for their accomplishments. Here, we see women at the top of their respective fields, making a difference in their communities and helping to shape the economic future of the region.
Within this group, there are mothers and women of religious faith. There is homegrown talent, in addition to at least one self-proclaimed “country girl” and people who have lived in other countries.
Our editorial team’s Q&A sessions with these women, available here, aim to provide insight into their motivations, passions and secrets to success. We hope you enjoy reading.
Editor’s note: To nominate a female business leader for next year’s Women in Business feature, submissions are open year-round under the “Best in Class” tab of this website. Nominations will not be held over for 2017. If you know someone who is worthy of recognition but did not make it in, don’t hesitate to nominate her again.
