Fayetteville Areas Now AT&T Fiber Ready
As part of AT&T Inc.’s initiative to connect more businesses to the benefits of fiber networks and the high-speed technologies and services they empower, city leaders joined AT&T representatives Thursday to announce portions of Fayetteville that have been certified as AT&T Fiber Ready.
A news conference was held at 11 a.m. at the Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce. Areas announced include:
- Mountain Ranch Properties, North Rupple Road to Interstate 49
- The Fayetteville Commerce District bounded by 15th Street, Morningside Drive, Pump Station Road and Armstrong Avenue
- The Fayetteville Downtown Square from Church Street to College Avenue and Meadow to Mountain Street
- College Avenue, Rock Street to Joyce Boulevard
- Joyce Boulevard, Steele Boulevard to Millennium Drive
- North Shiloh Drive, Mount Comfort Road to Point West Street
The designation indicates that high-speed, fiber-based services are available in these areas, making them more appealing for businesses.
Through the AT&T Fiber Ready program, AT&T is working closely with local economic and development leaders to help industrial parks, office campuses, building owners and other commercial real estate providers promote the availability of AT&T fiber-based high-speed Internet services to prospective businesses.
“AT&T is investing in high-speed Internet all across Arkansas,” Cathy Foraker, AT&T’s external affairs manager, said in a news release. “We are proud to announce these Fayetteville locations are included among the many locales where AT&T’s fiber infrastructure is in place and ready to help local businesses connect, innovate and drive job creation.
“Positive, pro-business policies embraced by Arkansas’s state and local elected officials continue to make our state a great place to invest. I’m proud of the work we have done deploying fiber and other infrastructure that delivers high-speed Internet access.”
The benefits of being AT&T Fiber Ready include ultra-fast Internet access and providing the bandwidth necessary for supporting data-intensive use, such as video, collaboration and cloud services.
Since 2012, AT&T has added 1 million additional business customer locations to its fiber network.
“High-speed Internet is key to economic success as it allows businesses operating in our city to easily connect to customers, suppliers and employees who might be in different locations, regions or hemispheres,” said Steve Clark, president & CEO of the Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce. “These fiber networks empower the high-speed technology and apps our businesses rely on to remain competitive locally, regionally and even globally. The AT&T Fiber Ready designation lets people know we have the critical infrastructure in place to help their businesses succeed.”
