Two NWA Cities Hire PR Staff
In the past six weeks, two Northwest Arkansas cities have hired public relations staff.
Ben Cline became public relations specialist for Rogers on April 1. Three days later, Melissa Reeves started as director of public relations for Springdale.
Both positions are new to the two cities and report to their respective city mayors.
Cline was a multimedia journalist for local NBC affiliate KNWA-TV for nearly the past two years. Reeves was a marketing manager for J.B. Hunt Transport Services Inc. of Lowell for almost a year, and before that, a marketing director in Missouri.
In her position, Reeves said she “helps communicate the city to the citizens. For all city matters, I’m kind of like the point person.”
Cline explained that his position is open-ended, and he works to promote Rogers, “almost like a cheerleader for the city.”
Cline has a $52,000 annual salary, and Reeves’ is $69,818.
