Sheriff named UAFS vice chancellor for finance and administration
Bradley Sheriff, the assistant vice chancellor of business and finance for academic affairs at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, has been named vice chancellor for finance and administration at the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith.
He is set to begin in that role on May 9.
Sheriff led numerous financial initiatives in the academic area in his role at Nebraska, including co-leading a task force to examine the viability of moving the university to flat-rate tuition. As part of that initiative, he created the modeling tool used across the University of Nebraska system to conduct the required tuition revenue analyses.
Additionally, he led the effort to develop a revenue-sharing model for online and distance education tuition, and worked with the Chancellor’s Enrollment Management Task Force to develop scholarship strategies stimulating resident and non-resident enrollments.
“Mr. Sheriff’s exceptional financial knowledge and higher education experience make him a perfect choice to lead the areas of finance and administration at UAFS. I am excited to have an administrator of his caliber joining my team, and I look forward to his long and productive period of service to this institution and the citizens and community we serve,” UAFS Chancellor Dr. Paul Beran said in a statement.
Prior to his work with University of Nebraska, Sheriff was the associate vice president for business affairs and compliance at Indiana Wesleyan University. He has also held positions as the director of university strategic procurement, the administrative director of operations and external relations, and administrative planning and project coordinator at the University of Illinois.
“I look forward to engaging with the dedicated staff in finance and administration to provide the stewardship, service, and support functions so critical to the success of the university’s academic mission,” Sheriff said in a statement. “My wife Launa and I, along with our daughter Lauren, are excited to become active members of the UAFS and Fort Smith communities.”
Sheriff holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from Greenville College, a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Illinois at Springfield, and has completed coursework for a doctorate in global leadership specializing in higher education administration from the Indiana Institute of Technology. Additionally, he holds a certificate in higher education management from Harvard University and is a certified management accountant.
