Microsoft Official to Speak in Rogers
Kevin Turner, chief operating officer for Microsoft, will speak at the 3rd annual Northwest Arkansas Technology Summit in Rogers on Oct. 7.
Turner leads Microsoft’s “worldwide sales, field marketing and service organization,” according to a press release from the Bentonville/Bella Vista Chamber of Commerce. “He also manages support and partner channels, Microsoft stores, and corporate support functions including information technology, licensing and pricing and operations.”
The organization he oversees includes 51,000 employees in more than 190 countries and delivers Microsoft products and services to customers and partners throughout the world, according to the press release.
Turner, who has been chief operating officer for 10 years, has worked to improve efficiency and increase customer satisfaction scores to the highest level in company history, the release shows. The company had $93.6 billion in revenue and 8 percent growth in 2015.
Before working at Microsoft, Turner spent nearly 20 years at Wal-Mart Stores Inc. At 29, he was the youngest corporate officer. He also was executive vice president and chief information officer for Wal-Mart Stores Inc. and president and chief executive officer of Sam’s Club.
Turner was a member of the Northwest Arkansas Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 class in 2002.
The technology summit is hosted by the Bentonville/Bella Vista Chamber of Commerce and the NWA Technology Council.
