Jonesboro developer Josh Brown said Tuesday the first stand alone Starbucks will be built on Southwest Drive, just adjacent to Veterans Park.

Brown, through Haag Brown, said location of the Starbucks is key.

“As one of the earliest developed retail roads in Jonesboro, Southwest Drive remains beloved of locals bursting with up-scale and locally-owned businesses and retail. Starbucks will surely be a welcomed addition,” Brown said.

A 0.61 acre tract of land, located between Taco Bell/KFC and McDonald’s and owned by Three Fowler Investments LLC and Fowler Foods Inc., was purchased by Haag Brown Development on Feb. 29. This will be the new Starbucks site, Brown said.

The Southwest Drive part of town has been busy in recent months, Brown said.

“Evident of the regeneration of Southwest Drive, a new CVS is coming to the southwest corner of Highland and Southwest Drive. McDonalds will soon start the re-construction of their southeast corner location of the same intersection updating this essential Jonesboro corridor,” Brown said.
