Fayetteville-based home builder Buffington Homes of Arkansas has started marketing homes in its newest residential community — The Parks at Brighton.

The 41.1-acre development in southwest Bentonville received final plat approval in January as the Brighton Cottages subdivision, with 167 buildable lots. It is bordered to the east by the Brighton Heights subdivision, and to the north by Phase IV of the Wildwood subdivision.

Buffington Homes, led by Clay Carlton, bought the abandoned residential project in February 2014 for $1.67 million. The subdivision was originally being developed by LandQuest Communities LLC of Michigan in 2005, but fell into foreclosure and was acquired by Regions Bank in 2009.

Buffington Homes is already underway with construction of the first of two model homes in the neighborhood. Juliana Salazar, Buffington Homes’ principal broker and marketing director, also said two homes have already been sold, ranging in price from $270,000 to $320,000.

Amenities include gourmet kitchens, stainless steel appliances, granite countertops throughout and a one-year builder warranty on construction.

The subdivision will have a community clubhouse, swimming pool and three common park areas for residents, including a dog park.

The Parks at Brighton will offer maintenance-free living for residents and the POA dues are $1,400 annually. That covers park maintenance and mowing, landscaping and watering of all yards for residents.

Salazar also noted the neighborhood’s close proximity to Bentonville schools Willowbrook Elementary and Fulbright Junior High, both less than a mile away.
