Weaver joins Gastroenterology Center at Sparks Health in Fort Smi
Danielle Weaver, an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN), has joined the Gastroenterology Center at Sparks Health System in Fort Smith.
Weaver will assist Dr. Hrair Simonian in caring for patients suffering from a variety of gastrointestinal disorders including irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), chronic constipation, chronic diarrhea, gastroesophageal reflux disease (medical and surgical treatment), liver disease and treatment of Hepatitis C with the latest medications available to improve patient outcomes.
She also will assist Chasidy McAllister, APRN, in referring patients in need of liver transplants for evaluation.
Weaver says she has always had an interest in aastroenterology, especially after being diagnosed with IBS as a teenager.
“I just assumed everyone else had the same problems I did, until I saw a doctor,” she said. “It’s an issue nobody wants to talk about, but there are options and we can help patients get relief.”
Weaver completed in 2013 her master’s degree in nursing at the University of Central Arkansas. She recently worked as an APRN at a family medicine clinic in Muldrow, Okla.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Baker University.
