A new hotel is coming to a location once known for upscale furniture.

On Monday, Arkansas-based commercial real estate firm Sage Partners announced the sale of 2.69 acres of property at University Avenue and 12th Street in Little Rock – the former location of Brandon House Furniture.

The property was sold to Midtown Hospitality, LLC, which plans to develop a Staybridge Suites hotel on the site at a total investment of $13 million.

“This is a prime location that had been vacant for a long time,” said Aaron Nicholson, Associate in the Sage Partners Little Rock office. “We’re thrilled it will be redeveloped, benefitting the surrounding area and the entire city,” said Nicholson.

Staybridge is scheduled to open in early 2017. The hotel will include 117 guest rooms and will offer a variety of amenities, including a state-of-the art meeting facility.
