Longtime Banker Mike McFarland Retiring from Arvest

Whispers hears that longtime banker Mike McFarland has announced his intention to retire.

McFarland has been senior vice president of business development for Arvest Bank in Springdale since January 2011. Before that, he spent a number of years as First Security Bank’s Springdale market president.

McFarland has been one of Springdale’s most visible civic leaders. He is the chairman and treasurer of the Springdale Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast, and also serves on the Springdale Advertising & Promotion Commission. He is also a former president of the Springdale Chamber of Commerce, and current board member of the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce.

McFarland’s final day at the bank is March 31.
